Soloist, Chamber Musician, Teacher
Chicago-based violinist and violist Robert Raymond, with training from Charles Castleman, Phillip Ying, and Almita Vamos at the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University, is a unique voice in the music world. His approach to playing is reminiscent of the players of the golden age of the early 20th century, and he specializes in bringing new life to forgotten works of the past.
He has over a decade of teaching experience to students young and old, from beginners to pre-professional students, and has been teaching violin and viola students in the Chicago area for a year now.
He has performed with many fine pianists and conductors and his sonata and concerto repertoire is extensive and varied. An avid chamber musician, he has performed much of the standard string quartet repertoire and is the violinist of the Peregrine Piano Trio.
